June 2011 – Hydro-Marine Construction Named #7 at South Jersey’s Fastest-Growing Companies Awards
On June 9th, the Philadelphia Business Journal held its Annual Awards Program Luncheon for South Jersey’s Fastest Growing Companies at the Merion in Cinnaminson, NJ. Of the 25 privately held companies in Camden, Burlington, Gloucester, Ocean, Atlantic, Cumberland and Cape May Counties, Hydro-Marine Construction Co., Inc. placed 7th. Deborah Zellers, Marianne Schoeffling and Melissa Raduns were present to accept the Award. This is Hydro-Marine’s third time in the SJ 25 also winning in 2010 (11th) and 2008 (7th).
The Awards Luncheon Keynote speaker was Congressional 3rd District Representative and former Philadelphia Eagle, Jon Runyan. The Summit also held a panel discussion featuring CEO’s from First Colonial National Bank, TD South Jersey Market and The Bank highlighting issues for small businesses in the current economy.
Sonja Sherwood, Associate Editor/Special Reports of the Philadelphia Business Journal said, “Growing in the midst of a severe recession is no small accomplishment for a small business. The companies that make up the South Jersey’s Fastest-Growing Companies this year aren’t large or lavishly capitalized. The majority are operations with fewer than 20 employees and less than $10 million in sales.” She goes on to say, “Collectively, the South Jersey Fastest-Growing Companies generated sales of $268 million last year and employed 1,202. Given the depth of the downturn we just came through, that last point deserves extra attention.” Hydro-Marine Construction is very proud to be in the company of such extraordinarily talented companies that continue to grow despite the condition of the economy. We congratulate all winners on this special achievement and wish continued success to all!
