W.J. Castle, P.E. & Associates, P.C. is a provider of three different PDH courses accredited in both NJ and NY.
Each class is 1 hour long and is worth 1 PDH credit.
Below is a brief description of the classes:
Course 1: Integration of New Technologies Enhances Underwater Inspection (1 PDH)
Course 2: HYDRO-BRACE Steel H-Pile Repair System (1 PDH)
Course 3: Value Engineering (1 PDH)
Course 1: Integration of New Technologies Enhances Underwater Inspection (1 PDH)
Presentation Description: The goal of this session is to present the benefits of scanning sonar imaging in relation to underwater inspections. Standard underwater inspection and scanning sonar inspection are clearly defined highlighting the key components of each.
Comparisons between the two types of inspections are made including; methodology of inspection, inspection requirements, challenges encountered, and final outputs.
A case study is provided; highlighting the differences between a standard underwater inspection and scanning sonar inspection of a railroad bridge located in Delair, New Jersey. The conclusions are then summarized, reiterating the benefits of using the new technology for the marine field.
Previously Presented by W.J. Castle P.E. & Associates to Army Corps of Engineers.
Additional Materials: Underwater Investigations: Standard Practice Manual Overview
– Part 1 – Underwater Inspection and Evaluation: “A Critical Component” for Preventative Maintenance, Operation and Relicensing
– Part 2 – Underwater Inspection and Evaluation: “A Critical Component” for Preventative Maintenance, Operation and Relicensing
– Part 3 – Underwater Inspection and Evaluation: “A Critical Component” for Preventative Maintenance, Operation and Relicensing
– Part 4 – Underwater Inspection and Evaluation: “A Critical Component” for Preventative Maintenance, Operation and Relicensing
Course 2: HYDRO-BRACE Steel H-Pile Repair System (1 PDH)
Presentation Description: This presentation will discuss the Hydro-Brace Steel H-Pile Repair System®.
The Hydro-Brace H-Pile repair system was developed as a cost-effective, alternate solution to traditional pile jackets. Highlighted in this presentation are the purpose, installation process, and benefits of using this system.
Testing results documenting the structural capacity of the repair system are included.
A case study, compared to other systems, and recommendations on best practices will also be addressed.
Course 3: Value Engineering (1 PDH)
Presentation Description: This presentation will discuss Value Engineering and how to successfully implement it.
Key items of discussion are the definition, the purpose, processes followed, and the benefits of Value Engineering. A case study is included in this presentation to illustrate the best practices and how to implement each phase of Value Engineering.
The goal is to provide the audience with a better understanding of Value Engineering and how it can potentially help them.

Bill Castle and the Castle Team had a great time sharing Value Engineering and how to successfully implement it with Amtrak.
From Amtrak: “The case-study approach was very much appreciated and helped to put each presentation into perspective for our group and where it can be used.“
